Having a personal connection to a senior client makes that session even more magical.  In this session below, photographer Adriane Thompson of ART Photography says that she has known this teen for years.

“I’ve known Chase for a few years since she started babysitting my boys!  Then, when I decided to launch my very first senior rep team, she was the first to sign up!” said Adriane.

Check out this beautiful session below and read what else Adriane had to say about it.  Thanks for sharing your work with Seniorologie!

art-photography-2016-senior-session001art-photography-2016-senior-session006art-photography-2016-senior-session002What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
Nature and Chase’s amazing personality! The cottonwoods were just starting to shed which I knew would feel like a magical forest and it did!

Where did this photo shoot take place?
Along the Hassayampa River in Wickenburg, AZ where there is actually trees and grass! and in the desert in Morristown, AZ

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
Yes, if you consider her putting different outfits on in her bedroom and texting me photos! We knew we wanted to do at least one long skirt and pop of pinks to go with her complexion. And ending with a dress in the desert is something I always try doing.

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
Camera – Nikon d750
Lenses – Nikkor 85mm, 1.8/f and 50mm, 1.4/f

late afternoon into evening

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
I always start in Lightroom with minor adjustments, then I bring the photos into Photoshop to really make the colors pop and matte around the subject.

What is your favorite thing about this session?
Chase and the light! She was so incredible to work with. We had so much fun especially in the water and trying not to get hurt by the vicious teddybear cholla cacti. The desert glow is also something you don’t find in many places.

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
I wanted this session to convey her sweet, sassy, and bubbly personality and my bold, emotional and bright photography style.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
Laugh a lot to get the seniors to loosen up and ultimately have a great time. If I’m having fun, they have fun. I bring a bluetooth speaker to blast music which always brings out personality and awesome dance moves, too.
