Let’s Hear it for the Boys!  That’s right we have a fabulous senior guy inspirational post today by the talented Brittany Pelegrino of Brittany Pelegrino Photography!

Brittany said that this senior wanted to incorporate several different looks for his session.  A Senior Guy wanting to show off his style by wearing his favorite Superman Tshirt, soccer uniform and clothes he would wear to school makes photographing him so much fun.  By allowing him to wear what he felt comfortable in, the photographer was able to capture his style and personality in a relaxed and fun shoot!

Check out this shoot below and read what Brittany had to say about it!  Thanks for sharing this shoot with Seniorologie Brittany!!

What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
Josh was my inspiration for the photo shoot. He wanted to incorporate some shots with his soccer uniform, his favorite superman shirt and regular school clothes.

Where did this photo shoot take place?
The photo shoot took place in Holly Springs, NC at Parish Womble Park and Suggs Farm.

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
This senior has quite the busy schedule with school, sports and a job so it was a little difficult planning out clothing or concepts before the shoot. Going into the session, I knew he wanted a location that had soccer goals so he we could get some shots of him in his uniform which helped me pick our first location at the park. Since we were unable to meet before the session, I told him to bring clothes he felt most comfortable in and then once he arrived he went through his clothes and pieced together outfits.

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
5D Mark II and 85mm f/1.8

What time of day were these taken?
4P

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
Post-processing is pretty standard- exposure, white balance, etc. I then use a preset from VSCO that I have modified to give it my own unique look and feel.

What is your favorite thing about this session?
I love how Josh has such a great smile as well as a great serious face. He was also such a good sport considering we were taking pictures in below 30 degree weather – and thats really cold for NC ya’ll!

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
I want this session to convey Josh’s fun and relaxed personality. I also wanted to show guys that seniors pictures can be fun and not intimidating. I really wish more guys were willing to step in front of the camera!

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
One tip I can share is get to know your seniors! I always start off each session by just chatting with my senior. This helps put them at ease and helps me get to know them a little better. I typically have seniors fill out a questionnaire before our session as well where I ask them a fun fact about themselves. It is a great way to break the ice when you finally meet them in person and a good joke to use throughout the session to get them to really laugh 🙂
