Really getting to know your seniors before their session helps you capture each senior’s unique story.  In this session below, photographer Molly Park of Molly Park Photography in Florida captured both the sentimental side as well as the sporty side of this senior.

“Hannah is sporty yet earthy and very close to her family,” said Molly.  “The white dress she is wearing in some of the images belonged to her great-great-grandmother, as well as the locket.  In fact, the locket that she is wearing was also being worn by her great-great-grandmother when she had her picture taken!”

Check out this awesome shoot below and read what else Molly had to say about it.  Thanks for sharing your beautiful work with Seniorologie Molly!

What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?

Hannah is sporty yet earthy, and very close to her family. The white dress that she is wearing in some of the images belonged to her great-great grandmother, as well as the locket. In fact, the locket that she is wearing was also being worn by her great-great grandmother when she had her picture taken!

Where did this photo shoot take place?

We did the first set of pictures at the historic Bensen House in Grant, Florida, and then we drove to the Sebastian River Preserve State Park to get some unique outdoorsy pictures. At one point Hannah was so obliging and went all the way up a berm to get some beautiful shots!

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?

I work with all of my seniors to create photoshoots that are unique to them. Hannah chose all of her outfits and they looked amazing on her.

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?

Nikon full frame cameras with fast lenses 🙂

What time of day were these taken?

About 2 hours before sunset

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?

I pride myself in simple editing that highlights the natural beauty of my seniors and the shooting locations.

What is your favorite thing about this session?

That is tough to pick just one! I absolutely loved that Hannah and her mom chose to incorporate family heirlooms – Hannah’s mom even lugged a big chair to the middle of nowhere to get these shots!

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?

Hannah is such a sweet, beautiful senior gal, and I am so excited to have her as one of my ambassadors for the class of 2017. She has such a fun year ahead of her with cheerleading, friends and family, and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for her.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?

Be goofy! I find that the sillier I am, the faster my seniors relax with me. I am a big fan of huge natural laughing smiles, and the only way to get those is to show your seniors that they can relax with you.
