To celebrate Seniorologie’s Fifth Birthday we are going back to our roots…with a twist!  One of the things I loved doing when I first started this blog was interviewing senior photographers that I admired.  I loved sharing with readers these photographers words and photos so they could learn from some of my favorite photographers.

So to celebrate our birthday we are going to Interview some of our favorites and have these photographers be our guest judge for the week!  So not only can you learn from these guest judge interviews but these awesome photographers will be choosing the best photos of the week for the Seniorologie Spotlight photo challenge.

What is Seniorologie Spotlight?  It is a chance for you to show off your work and be chosen as our Facebook Timeline cover of the week.  How does it work?  Its simple!  Just share a favorite photo you have taken of a senior session on our Facebook wall or share on your instagram by tagging @seniorologie and using the hashtag #seniorologiespotlight.  Our guest judge will view the photos that are posted by Friday and pick a top three for the week.  Those top three will be announced on the blog Saturday and then the winner will be unveiled as our Timeline Cover on Facebook.

To kick off our Guest Judge Series, the below interview is from one of our favorite senior photographers who also happens to be a speaker at our senior photography conference, Conference 12 this October in Miami!

True Moua is such a talented photographer.  Every single time I view her images I am inspired.  She really takes photos that are like art.  I can only imagine how beautiful her clients must feel after a session with her.  Check out True’s interview below and view some of her amazing photos!  And don’t forget to share your photos so True can see your work and pick our top three images of this week!!

Tell us a little about you….I’m a mother of three, wife to my best friend for 23 years, creator, artist, traveler, adventurer, lover of natural light. I’m easy going, get along with everyone and will most likely try everything and anything at least once.

How long have you been in business?  This August marks two years, fulltime

What do you love most about photographing seniors?  Being able to help them build confidence!  As one of my seniors said, “you gain a sense of empowerment seeing yourself in a way you don’t normally see yourself.”  We have the ability to show them just how beautiful they are.

What’s in your camera bag?  Cannon Mark II, 50 1.4, 85 1.2, 70-200 2.8, 135 2.0, 24-70 2.8

Favorite type of location to shoot?  fields, water anything with some kind of landscape

What is one tip you can share regarding senior photography?  Kids want to know that you can relate to them, understand them and educate yourself on each and every one of them.  They are beautiful and unique in their own way.  Do everything you can do to capture their personality and who they are.
