Personality is the key to making photos stand out.  In this session below, you immediately see the fun, happy side of the senior as well as the serious side.

“Raquel wanted something real and not overly thought out,” said Lisa of Lisa Marie Figueroa in Anaheim, California.  “She just wanted to pretend to be a model for a few hours and boy did she deliver!”

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
My editing is described as dreamy and romantic with a bit of spice. I often go for delicate whimsy for my post processing, but where Raquel wanted to be fierce, I went for dramatic light and contrast in a few as well. I am inspired and driven by light, so that’s an important element in most of my photography work.

What is your favorite thing about this session?
I love that Raquel gave me all the facets of her personality. She is soft, sweet and angelic. Yet, she is also driven, fierce and powerful. To be able to see all these parts of her in these images was something that moved her Parents to tears.

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
My hope is that this session shows Raquel in an honest light. She is such a beautiful young girl who has so much potential for success. She has drive and hunger to acheive big things in her life.
It is my hope that people view my style as dreamy, enchanting and just heart warming. I hope to highlight all the beauty in my client and do so with comfortable posing and simplicity. Beauty is truly in the details…

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
To allow the senior to have a voice in their session. Afterall, this year is one that highlights their impending independence.I welcome suggestions on locations, what they wish to wear and what they desire of their session. I think respect and being flexible is always ideal when working with young people.
