How long have you been in business? since 2008

What do you think makes a perfect senior session? A senior that is excited about their shoot and follows my advice regarding wardrobe, color popping, and just being themselves.

What do you love most about photographing seniors? Just their love for wanting something different, something out of the box. I love that they aren’t afraid to follow my lead. They’re very trusting and let me run with my vision and that makes me a happy girl.

What would you say is the biggest challenge in your business? Definitely finding the time to balance being a wife, a mother, and a business owner/photographer all at the same time.

Describe your photography style?  Colorful, light, airy, and clean edits

What motivates or inspires you in your photography? Color. I see life in vibrant colors. I live 5 minutes from the gulf and the sea really inspires me as well. It’s a great place to regroup, plan, and just breathe deep. Sugaring my toes in the sand and enhaling the scent of the ocean makes everything better in life.

 

1. Where are you from/live?  I’m a born and raised “Hoosier (Indiana)” but have lived in Naples, Florida for almost three years now.

2. Married? Yes, I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart for 18 years

3. Kids? I have three children, 2 boys and a girl

4. What are their ages? My oldest son is 13, my middle daughter whom has special needs is almost 9, and we have our baby boy who is 16 months old.

5. Nikon or Cannon? Nikon

6. Favorite Lens?  My nifty fifty – 50mm 1.4 

7. What kind of Camera Bag do you carry?  I switch back and forth. Love my Kelly Moore bags but I also carry my Ness bag a lot as well.

8. Favorite music to edit to? Most times I’m editing late at night – in the dark – in silence – because my kids and husband are sleeping. LOL! My favorite music would be anything from the 90’s though. Those were the good ol’ days.  LOL!  No one makes music like that anymore.

 9. Favorite Photoshop Action? All of Jodi’s actions – from MCP.

 10. A Photographer that inspires you? Oh goodness…so many…Zoe Berkovic, Amanda Holloway, Barb Uil (JinkyArt), Laura Brett, Travis & Jean Smith just to name a few.

 11. Favorite food? Anything Italian or anything drowning in chocolate.  🙂

 12. Favorite place to shop? Nordstrom or the Buckle

 13. Favorite drink at Starbucks? Iced Carmel Machiatto, soy, decaf and upside down

 14. Favorite Guilty Pleasure? Shopping for anything photography related – props, supplies, equipment, etc.

 15. Favorite Memory from when you were a senior? Graduation night. The realization that I was finally done with high school.  🙂

 16. Favorite Quote or saying?  “There will be years that ask and there will be years that answer, in the end…God never wastes pain.” (told to me by a wiser, older, friend years ago)

 17. Favorite Workshop or photography event you have attended?  That is a tough one. I’ve loved every workshop I’ve ever attended and feel like I’ve taken away a ton of things from each oneof them.  I guess if I had to choose one, it would be the Learnfest workshop that Lena Hyde, Audrey Woulard, Tamara Lackey, and Laura Novak used to do together.

 18. Favorite Magazine? Professional Photographer

 19.Favorite Vacation spot?  The Cayman Islands

 20. Favorite Movie? That would be a tie between Top Gun or Footloose – the oldies but goodies
