The Seniorologie Directory is a listing of senior portrait photographers across the country.  The purpose of the directory is to provide seniors a place to find the perfect senior portrait photographer for their senior photos.  As a member of the Seniorologie Directory, photographers receive a blog post that gives them the opportunity to share a little about their business and themselves.

Today’s Seniorologie Directory Member Share is from Marci Weidler of Circle of Life Photography in Elizabethtown, PA.  Check out her work and read all about her below.

How long have you been in business? 4.5 years

What percentage of your business is a senior? Currently about 85%, mostly girls. I also photograph kids and families on occasion.

What do you think makes a perfect senior session?  A warm, sunny evening + my friend Jessica (makeup artist) + a girl who LOVES fashion, having fun, and is up for anything.

What do you love most about photographing seniors?  I love getting to know them. I’ve been blessed with some pretty amazing, ambitious, humble girls who have big dreams to live their lives serving others; they are inspiring!

What would you say is the biggest challenge in your business? Weather/scheduling. Trying to coordinate schedules for three people (me, makeup artist & client) on an ideal weather day can be a challenge.

Describe your photography style? Still evolving~ I love warm images that reveal a person’s personality and say something about who they are right now.

What motivates or inspires you in your photography? Making every photoshoot special to each girl: having fun with fashion and creating a look she loves is my main motivation. I also find inspiration from classic artists and paintings.

Twenty Questions Game…Just for fun!

Where are you from/live? Elizabethtown, PA (close to Hershey, but our town boasts the Dove chocolate plant; some days it smells like chocolate 😉

Married? Yes~ married to my best friend for nearly 18 years 🙂

Kids? Yes, a daughter and two sons. We are into the teen years and it’s a balance of fun and chaos.

What are their ages? 14, 12, and 9

Nikon or Canon? Canon

What kind of camera bag do you carry? Right now I have a Jill-e backpack because if I don’t wear my equipment, I will lose it!

Favorite music to edit to? I go through phases~ mostly Christian artists, independent songwriters and eclectic tunes. Lately I love French pop music.

Favorite Photoshop Action? I don’t use many Photoshop actions~ but there’s one action I have called Applesauce. Nothing like hitting someone with a little applesauce to make ’em look good! Makes me giggle every time.

A photographer that inspires you? Sue Bryce. She is genuine, funny, talented/gifted and has a huge heart.

Favorite Food? Ice cream. That’s a food, right?

Favorite place to shop? Anthropologie~ I could spend hours in there.

Favorite drink at Starbucks? Grande dark-roast coffee w/ lots of cream & sugar.

Favorite Guilty Pleasure? Spa day at the Hotel Hershey

Favorite memory from when you were a senior? Um, I think I blocked that year from memory!? It remember it being fun and stressful. I was just ready to be done and move on!

Favorite Quote or Saying? Philippians 4:13 “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Because frankly without Jesus, it’s just not happening.

Favorite Workshop or photography event you have attended? SiteHouse’s GO LIVE website design event was the best workshop ever. Created and launched my website in two days. I made amazing friends there and we still keep in touch!

Favorite Magazine? I love one of our local magazines, Susquehanna Style. Lots of great images, color and inspiration.

Favorite Vacation Spot? Stockholm~ I could live there if it didn’t snow there half the year.

Favorite Movie? Les Miserables
