If you haven’t figured out by now, I am a huge advocate for learning!  Whether it be through Seniorologie’s workshops, specific photographer’s workshops or online workshops, I think learning is the way to always grow and improve your photography!

So when someone asks me to review an educational product, I jump at the chance!  I love to pass along information about online workshops where I think you can all learn valuable information.

One of the best online workshop resources is Clickin Moms!  They have allowed moms with cameras to grow into full-fledged professional photographers with their own businesses through their vast amount of educational classes that reach all genres.  From beginner classes to more advanced, any level of photographer can find something that fits their needs.  Whether you need to learn how to light your subject or you need a refresher course on marketing and pricing, Clickin Moms has something that will help.

The newest Break Out Session from Clickin Moms is an all-access pass to some of their best break outs.  The Clickin Moms All-Access Pass includes break outs from one of Seniorologie Tour’s Speakers, Amii Wroblewski, April Nienhuis, Courtney Keim, Elle Walker and Jennifer Dell.  Each of these photographers cover a subject that they know a lot about!

Each teacher has provided a comprehensive PDF about the subject they are teaching.  They also allow questions from you and give you a chance to win something special!

Amii teaches Developing Pricing.  Through her PDF, you will get down and dirty with the truth about pricing.  Amii points out some common mistakes made in regards to pricing and gives tips to fixing these mistakes in order to make a profit.  She gives the tools to figure out what the cost of goods are, how many clients you need to have per month and how to determine your salary (and who doesn’t want to have a salary from all your hardwork?) 🙂 There is a very helpful questionnaire that you can fill out to help you honestly look at what you are doing in terms of pricing.  Amii also includes a list of common photography business costs….some of which I didn’t even realize I needed to include!  If pricing is causing you grief, this is a course for you!

Iphoneography is a course that teaches you all about the art of using your iphone to create beautiful photos that will rivel your DSLR photos!  Sometimes having your big camera is not always feasible, so being able to capture important moments with your iphone is perfect!

April’s PDF is a step by step guide to using your iphone to its utmost potential and creating beautiful memories with it.  April shows you tricks and tips from capturing to editing and all the best apps to accomplish realize your vision. Not only does she suggest the best apps, but she goes through each one and tells you how to use it.  I’ve been using my iphone for years without realizing its full potential to help me with my photography.

In Courtney Keim’s Design Elements course, I was impressed by how she covered everything from typography, color, and design for both print and web in her PDF.  There are 34 beautifully designed pages crammed full of amazing design content.  Courtney will help you learn how to lay things out in a way that will draw attention to the key elements of your design piece.  She talks about the importance of typography and includes information about what size fonts and what type of fonts work best for creating client interest.  She include amazing visual aides that illustrate her points.
Elle Walker takes us on a technical journey through key elements such as understanding correct exposure, utilizing your histogram, learning about highlights and shadows, contrast, high key and low key images and what causes noise in your photos.  There are beautiful visual aides, lots of diagrams and details about camera settings.  The vast amount of information touches on everything from landscapes to street photography, portraits to fine art and abstract.  Her goal with this course is teach you to embrace digital noise and use it to create interest in your photos.  From how to create noise in camera to how to add it in post-production, Elle will share all her tips on making beautiful photographic noise.
Editing with Jennifer Dell is a informational PDF that teaches about how editing can really help portray a mood.  Editing is a process that all of us as photographers have to do.  And there are all kinds of different ways to edit.  Figuring out what your editing style is and using that editing style to portray a mood or emotion in the photo is what Jennifer details in this course.  Clean Color, Haze, Vintage, Drama, Black and White and much more are all types of editing that can be used to convey emotion in your photos.  Jennifer also gives you simple solutions for removing distracting objects, cropping, adjusting tones and much more.  For those that are just getting into photography, this is a great course to help you with your editing and for those that have been photographing for a while, this course can be a great refresher and allow you to add more drama and emotion to your photos.
