Taylor Swift has been a huge inspiration to Seniorologie. In fact we did an entire shoot out dedicated to the different looks of the Pop and Country Queen and you can see the results here.
But Taylor is not only an inspiration to us but to many other photographers! Sarah McAffry of Sarah McAffry Photography in Knoxville, Tennessee used the song Style in inspire this fun session below!
“My stylist Cassie and Peyton the model styled this session as a modern take on the classic, vintage 50s vibe,” said Sarah. “And they did an amazing job putting it all together!”
Check out this awesome session below and read what Sarah had to say about it! Thanks for sharing this session with Seniorologie!!!

What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
Two lines from Taylor Swift’s song STYLE were the inspiration for the #tswiftsession! My stylist Cassie and Peyton the model styled it as a modern take on the classic, vintage 50s vibe. And they did amazing putting it all together! Will modeled as the James Dean role and wore the classic jeans and white tee with Ray-Bans.
You got that James Dean day dream look in your eye
And I got that red lip classic thing that you like
And when we go crashing down, we come back every time.
Cause we never go out of style
We never go out of style
Where did this photo shoot take place?
The city of Maryville proved to be the perfect location. We couldn’t believe how many cars stopped in the road to wait for us to get our shot. People pulled over to tell us certain spots we couldn’t miss and the Capitol Theatre even made us an adorable banana split that we all enjoyed after the pictures were done!
Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
Yes, Peyton is interested in fashion and she collaborated on this shoot to style the perfect wardrobe to reflect the classic, vintage T Swift style with a modern edge.
What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 70-200mm 2.8, Canon 24-70mm 2.8
What time of day were these taken?
afternoon
Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
I used VSCO Film Portra Presets. We wanted a matte, bold image to connect to the strong lyrics in the song.
What is your favorite thing about this session?
My favorite thing about these pictures is that they feel editorial in style and really speak to Peyton’s interest in the fashion world. Some look like fashion blogger pictures, some look like paparazzi shots and others look like a magazine editorial.
What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
I want this session to convey my classic, timeless style but also that these images are current and relevant. I hope Peyton feels like the pictures captured the youthfulness of her senior year and also showed her strong fashion sense.
What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
Meeting with my seniors to plan the session weeks before the shoot has changed everything! We are able to build a relationship, to be comfortable with each other and to make sure our visions align to create images that they will treasure forever.
