Reaching out to seniors is a good way to get them to book with you.  In this beautiful session below, photographer Olivia Smith of Belle Marie Art & Photography in California said she reached out to this senior.

“I contacted her to see if she would be interested in doing a senior session with me and we planned her whole session around what she loves to do and her style,” said Olivia.

Check out this session below and read what else Olivia had to say about it.  Thanks for sharing this session with Seniorologie Olivia!

My inspiration for this shoot was to show how beautiful Natalie is, we make her makeup very classic chic but natural to show her natural beauty. We went for more of a high end classic for downtown laguna beach with her beautiful blue dress and black jumper. And the beach we wanted a casual look and to really showcase her dancing.

Where did this photo shoot take place?
We shot in downtown Laguna Beach and a little secluded beach a little north of laguna beach.

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
Natalie’s mom, Natalie and myself got together at Starbucks to discuss her session and we decided on where we wanted to go and the types of looks and makeup that we wanted to do. She just brought down a bunch of clothes on the day of the session and we looked though them and picked out four outfits that thought would look really great on her and the looks we were going for at the different locations.

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
Nikon D600 and 50mm 1.8

3:30 – 5:30

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
I edit all of my photos in Lightroom for major edits and then take them into photoshop and use frequency separation for skin editing so the details are preserved and Florabella actions for some final touches like mascara, blush, eye sharpening on a low opacity to just give the picture a little more pop.

What is your favorite thing about this session?
I love that Natalie is a dancer and wanted to incorporate that into her session, these images are just so raw and beautiful to me.

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
Natalie is definitely a beautiful girl with such class and grace and I think we caught that perfectly. She is so down to earth though and sweet I really wanted to get the different looks with her but still keep her personality in every photo.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
Make sure you get to know your seniors and always have a meeting with your senior and their parents before the day of the shoot. That way you can get to know them and talk about the shoot and learn about them. When it comes time for the session it will be less awkward and more like friends meeting and the photos will look so much better because they will be more secure and trust you more to get the perfect photo.
