What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
There was no specific inspiration for this shoot.  Our senior had a exotic look about her which led to some stunning natural images.

Where did this photo shoot take place?
Indian Camp Creek Park in Wentzville,Mo.

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
No, our senior brought with her all of her own clothing.

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
For this shoot I used a Canon 5d Mark iii.  The lenses I used were the 100mm and the 70-200 mm lenses with the 600 flashes.

lexie-9lexie-7lexie-13What time of day were these taken?
An hour and a half before sunset.

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
For all of my post-processing I use Portraiture on the skin lightly. From there I use a combination of actions that have been my go to actions for years now.

What is your favorite thing about this session?
My favorite thing about this session was that we were both determined to get the shots done in the field even though we were both being attacked by bees the whole time.

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
For this session, my senior was open to try anything to get the right shot even if they meant that I had her get into the creek and getting dirty.

I love playing with light.  With this session taking place before sunset and using my flashes off camera.  My style is also organic looking with a twist of whimsical.  I believe my post processing gives the images a bit of a dreamy look to wrap it all up.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
My favorite tip that I can give other photographers is that you have to make your seniors comfortable in front of the camera.  You need to engage with them.  Be silly with them, have fun, let them fall into a pose naturally and not overthink what they are doing.
