What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
Jena wanted a very relax and carefree session with a slightly boho feel. With her choice of outfits, it really made her session.

Where did this photo shoot take place?
This session was taken at a Gum Grove Park in Seal Beach, California. This park is is adjacent to what is left of the Los Cerritos Wetlands. It was the perfect setting for Jena’s session.

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
Yes, I have a in-person consultation before each session so I can get to know my client, and discuss locations, outfits, and props.

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
Canon 5d Mark II with a Canon 85mm f/1.8 lens, and reflector.

What time of day were these taken?
Late afternoon

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
I keep it pretty simple, I culling Lightroom and finish in Photoshop with some skin smoothing, pop of color, and sharpening.

What is your favorite thing about this session?
The light and color

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
This session conveys Jena’s carefree and bubbly personality. I love her boho choice of outfits and that she incorporate a Rose, which is her middle name.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
Let them be their self and don’t be afraid to explore and try new things out. I try to end every session with something fun, like in this session the bubbles.
