Sometimes seeing a client gives you a vision that is perfect for their shoot.  In this beautiful session below, Judy of Judy Bodden Photography says that she saw this client’s picture on Facebook and immediately knew how she wanted the shoot to look.

“I loved her style so I sent her pictures of the direction I wanted to go in,” said Judy.  “I found out she loved music and playing her old vinyls so I told her what I had in mind and she was all for it!”

Check out this beautiful vintage bohemian session below and read what else Judy had to say about it.  Thanks for sharing your work with Seniorologie Judy!

Bohemian, outdoors, Coachella, vintage

Where did this photo shoot take place?
San Timeteo Canyon, Redlands California

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
Yes.  After I had seen pictures of this client on Facebook, I knew exactly how I wanted the shoot to look.  I loved her style so I sent her pictures of the direction I wanted to go in. I found out she loved music and playing her old Vinyls.  I know right then how I wanted to style the shoot. I told her what I had in mind and she was all for it.

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
Nikon D700
Tamron 24-70mm 2.8
Nikon 85mm 1.8D

What time of day were these taken?
5:30pm

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
All my edits were done in Lightroom using Mastin Labs presets

What is your favorite thing about this session?
The light!

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
This is the first Senior session that I shot with this type of Bohemian feel.  I loved the natural rustic feel. The young lady was a dream to work with.  From start to finish, the light was amazing!  I hope that this session will convey to new clients that they can feel free to be themselves.  I love to listen to their ideas and incorporate my ideas to come up with an awesome session we will both have fun doing.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
Most Seniors are uncomfortable in front of the camera at first.  My tip is to take your time and really talk to them and get to know them.  I like to make small talk and be goofy in between shots. They might think I’m dorky but that’s ok.  At least I can get a genuine smile.
