What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
Ever since I have been little I have always been so inspired by dancers and their ability to flow in such a graceful and elegant manner. I have always wanted to photograph a session that shows how beautiful dancers really are and I knew that Mckenna was the perfect model for the session. Not only is she drop dead gorgeous but she is genuinely one of the sweetest most kind hearted girls you will ever meet. We also decided to have some fun and shoot her in her prom dress since prom is right around the corner!

Where did this photo shoot take place?
We shot at several locations in the Fort Wayne, IN area

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
Of course! I had contacted McKenna with the ideas that I had for the session and she was such a great help in finding the perfect outfits to go with what I was wanting for the shoot!

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
Nikon d700, 85mm 1.8

What time of day were these taken?
2 hours before sunset

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
I start by putting each image into lightroom where I have made my own presets that I apply to the images. I then throw them into photoshop for some retouching with portraiture!

What is your favorite thing about this session?
Honestly, my favorite part was just hanging out with Mckenna and her mom and just seeing her true beauty shine through each image. There is nothing better than shooting a gorgeous girl with such a beautiful heart<3

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
In all of my sessions I want show the world each girls authentic self by showing their passions and dreams through each image shot. McKenna has a very strong passion for dance and she also has such a bubbly and fun personality, which certainly is portrayed in the images in her prom dress.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
Be light hearted and be their best friend during their shoot! Don’t be afraid to be silly and down to earth during the session – it will certainly bring out their true authentic personality, which leads
