On this cold winter day, these photos make me want summer!  This sun-filled, natural senior session is just the perfect thing for a gray winter day!

Elizabeth Sylvester of Liz Yvonne Photography in Louisiana says that this senior was one of her senior representatives and that all her senior reps are actual clients so it allows her to get to know each one and create a session that shows off their personality just right!

Check out the beautiful light and the gorgeous makeup on this senior all captured by the incredibly talent of Elizabeth!  Read what else Elizabeth had to say about this session and check out more of her work here.  Thanks for sharing this session with us Elizabeth!

What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
My inspiration for this shoot was lighting. I went two days prior to the shoot and did test shots of the locations I was planning on putting her in. The great colors of the barn and her turquoise shirt were perfect with the greenery and the rustic colors of the area. Courtney was also my inspiration. In our first talks of doing this shoot, I really had a sense of who she was. She was fun, easy going, confident and oozed of personality!

Where did this photo shoot take place?
This session took place at my family home. We use this house for vacation and it is in the middle of a beautiful open field with plenty of photo worthy spots!

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
I collaborated with my senior on her outfit of choice. We also worked with a very talented makeup artist who also had some input on color of our outfit.

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
The equipment I used for this shoot included:
Canon MkIII Camera body
Canon 85 1.2L II USM
Canon 50 1.2L USM
Canon 27-70 2.8L II USM
Canon 70-200 2.8L IS II USM
Collapsible Silver Reflector

What time of day were these taken?
6-730pm

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
I did some minor tweaking to these images. Mostly just sharpening, adding clarity & contrast, correcting white balance, and spot removal.
There were no presets or actions used on any of these photos. I like to capture my light and subject in camera. I want my seniors to look like themselves. I like pores and natural beauty.

What is your favorite thing about this session?
My favorite thing about this session is how much fun we had! We were goofy, laughed, and it was an overall, a great experience for both the model and myself. I love seniors who are not shy, and this senior had so much confidence!
I also love the light. It was buttery perfection!

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
I want it to convey the feeling of confidence that this senior had. She was completely herself and comfortable from the first minute we started shooting until the very last photo! MY senior style is just natural beauty. I capture each individual personality of each senior. I adjust my style to create portraits that will please any senior. I capture the naturalness of each senior. I also love that clients love how “real” my photos look. No over photoshopping & no fake looking skin.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
To have fun! Don’t be afraid of taking chances with each senior. Take the time to get to know your senior before doing their session! Give them questionnaires, talk to them on the phone, add them on instagram and Facebook, get a good feel of their style, and make sure you appreciate each senior on their individuality.
