Location and clothing can often dictate the style of a senior session.  And in this photo shoot below, it took on a light and airy feel.

“At first I came into the session with a boho style in mind, but this quickly evolved into a light and airy feel, which was inspired by her clothing choices that really made it feel like summer,” said Sean Brown of Sean Brown Productions in Vancouver, Washington.

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
I try to go with a clean edit. I go through in Lightroom to tweak exposure, contrast and then bring the images into Photoshop for some minor skin touch-ups!

What is your favorite thing about this session?
I loved the variety of options that this location gave! I had never photographed here before and was amazed with the different looks that we could achieve without having to walk too far.

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
I try not to “over-edit” or process my images too heavily. I really like going with a natural feel and always make sure the images show their true self and not some Photoshopped version of them.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
Often times this is the first time a senior is having professional photos taken of them. I try not to bring my camera up to my eye for the first 10 minutes of the session to just seem like I’m having a conversation with the senior and the camera just happens to be along for the ride! I’ve found this really helps the senior relax and not worry too much about having a camera in front of them.
