I am a sucker for color!  I love it for my clothes, my house and especially in photos!!  So when Shannon Hollman of Shannon Hollman Photography submitted these gorgeous, colorful images, I knew I had to feature it!!

Shannon says that she wanted to capture the beauty of this senior.  “I LOVE her amazing hair,” said Shannon.  “I just wanted a session that showed just how beautiful she is inside and out!”

And I think Shannon did an excellent job of showcasing this senior’s beauty and the beauty of her surroundings in this colorful backdrop!

Check out the session below and read more about it.  Be sure to check out Shannon’s other work here.  Thanks for sharing Shannon!!

What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
I had met Jennifer before and I knew she was a beauty…and I LOVE her amazing hair. I just wanted a session that showed just how beautiful she is (inside and out).

Where did this photo shoot take place?
In Northwest Montana at a gorgeous property.

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
I gave her some tips on what would work, what colors would be best and what looks would be perfect for where we were going. She accompanied a couple other girls who had their photos taken by me too, so she had a good idea of what worked and what didn’t.

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
I use a canon 5d classic and the 50mm 1.2 and 85mm 1.2.

What time of day were these taken?
several hours before sunset

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
I edited them in photoshop…not much was done to them. We had amazing light and a perfect model. Just a little contrast pop and a little sharpening. That’s it 🙂

What is your favorite thing about this session?
Oh I just love this session. It was SO much fun to shoot and she came with a crew of people, so lots of laughs and great times were had. I LOVE photographing red heads and Jennifer was a complete dream to work with. I’m super happy with how they all turned out.

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
I think these photos show what a beautiful, kind and fun girl she is.
I love beautiful color, clean photos, natural light and to have fun….I hope all of my photos show that.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
HAVE FUN!! Let them be them. Help them to be relaxed and make it about the experience, not just the outcome of the pictures.
