What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?

My girls are always at the foundation of my inspiration. Keeping them excited and always giving them fun, unique photos that you can’t find anywhere else. The lavender festival is always inspirational this time of year in the Pacific Northwest as well!

Evergreen Valley Lavender in Olympia Washington

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?

I always work with my girls on what gets them excited, but the overall concept was mine to start.

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?

I have a Nikon 750 and mostly used my 85mm f1.4 lens for these types of shoots.

What time of day were these taken?

Golden Hour, of course!

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?

I keep my edits natural and clean. I don’t like to change much and love to get my images right straight out of camera.

What is your favorite thing about this session?

How much fun the girls had and the community they are building together.

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?

I love my community and getting involved with the girls and fellow photographers for these shoots. The moms, seniors, photographers, and the farmers all came together to make this session happen- I think that is pretty remarkable!

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?

These are my Senior Reps- part of my Model Senior Program. My biggest tip is to keep your reps interested and engaged. Keep getting back in front of them with fun activities and events that keep them interested and motivated to share their excitement with their friends. The more fun you make it for them, the more it will help drive your business.
