What time of day were these taken?
Late afternoon

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
I always try to touch up the least amount possible – just a bit of brightening and skin retouching where needed.

What is your favorite thing about this session?
How vibrant and relaxed the model was. She and I had a long discussion on beauty throughout the shoot. She admitted that she sometimes struggles with the idea of body image and not feeling beautiful and then we had a wonderful conversation on why I love photography – how it can capture a photo of a person at their very happiest and help them remember what they love about themselves. So even if each one of us isn’t always our own ideal of beauty 100% of the time, we can look back at those images and remember even just one thing about ourselves that we really like – whether it’s our smile, or how we interact with others – and that can help us gain back our self-confidence.

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
This girl’s first name means “to glitter” and I think she did a wonderful job doing just that for this shoot. My own photography style focuses on the bright and the vivid, so we worked well together.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
Keep them talking throughout the shoot! It helps them relax and have a good time.
