How’s that for alliteration? 😉

For many photographers, the month of December remains our coveted time off before the craziness of the spring hits with our second wave of senior sessions. But what about the senior who prefers more of a stark wintery scene for their portraits instead of the lush green–such a thing proves yet to be seen out here in ol’ dry west texas—landscape?

How do we go about warming up the feel of our senior’s wintery images while still staying true to the season? Enter: a winter white wardrobe! Forget about the rule that says “no white after labor day.” In my opinion winter white clothing is a gorgeous + warm alternative to the dark, cool grey tones we normally associate with winter. It especially looks good on any skin tone, ensuring you don’t look washed out…and who wants to look pale in those festive holiday gathering photos anyway? Not me!

When your seniors select winter white clothing, direct them to choose items that are thicker fabrics like chunky, cable knit sweaters, rather than something thin like light weight, sheer cardigans! Their entire outfit could be white, or they could pair it with a sleek black skinny jean, tights and boots or even a black leather pencil skirt! Last but not least, encourage your senior to choose gold or rose gold jewelry + accessories over the cooler silver tones. Finishing the look off with a bright red lip, this helps bring warmth to an already classic + polished outfit, with a little festive holiday flair!
