I love DIY projects! I love creating things and coming up with crafty projects. And when I can incorporate that into a senior session or a senior shoot out, then I am super happy! For the shoot out this past weekend, even though it was intended to be an outdoor urban shoot, I thought it would be neat to have a bonus indoor set. So I came up with a backdrop of ribbons and gold and I think it turned out great!
To do this yourself, all you need is the following:
– backdrop stand – get the kind that is portable and easy to set up so you can set this backdrop up in a studio or in your garage!
– foil door curtain – Party City – these come in gold or silver or even a variety of colors!
– ribbon – different shades and widths of ribbon
To set this up, all you have to do is set up your stand. Then tape the two foil door curtains to the horizontal rod of the backdrop stand. After that is done, add your ribbon! You can add as much or as little as you like. Simply cut long strips of ribbon and tie one end to the bar of the backdrop stand. Space them out and mix up the colors to add dimension. And you have the perfect, easy do-it-yourself backdrop stand! This would be a great backdrop for all kinds of senior sessions. Prom is right around the corner and setting something simple up for mini sessions for your senior clients would be a great way to get your name out there and do a little something different for your clients!
Check out the photos below – final photos and a pulled back shot so you can see the backdrop and how it was created!! Have fun!
