Last week’s Seniorologie 101 post by Ashley Fisher was all about WPPI!  She gave such great tips and tricks when it comes to planning your trip!!  So I thought I would elaborate on one of the tips…PLANNING YOUR CLASSES!

There are sooo many great classes at WPPI but there is no way to make it to all of them.  Some of your favorite classes could be scheduled at the same time and unless you can clone yourself, you are going to have to decide which one.  One of Ashley’s tips is to split up between your group and each go to a different class.  This will allow you to share notes with each other and at least get a glimpse of what all the classes you wanted to attend were about.

As a senior portrait photographer, it is important to learn about your niche.  However, there are many classes that aren’t senior related that would be extremely helpful for you!  Be sure to be open to all types of classes because you just never know what you could learn and apply to your own business!

Some of the more popular classes fill up or the line begins to form well before the class begins.  So if there is someone you are dying to see, be sure to get there early.  As Ashley suggested, and I have experienced, bring your laptop or ipad and do some work while waiting in line.  Another great thing you can do while waiting in line is network.  I met some of my greatest photog friends waiting in line, and we meet every time we go to Vegas!!

Make sure to plan your classes before you leave for Vegas!  I think this is very important.  Have a list of the ones you want to attend, their times and locations.  That way you will already know what you are going to do once you get there.  There are so many photographers and so much to do, so having a plan is very important.

I took a look at the platform classes and made a list below of the ones I would highly recommend for senior portrait photographers.  Some of these are at the same time, so it will be up to you to decide which one you choose.  But most of these speakers, I have learned from in the past, so I know they will provide information that will be highly beneficial.
