Seniorologie Spotlight of the week images are so beautiful and we love having the winning image be our Facebook Timeline Cover each week. I thought it would be interesting to learn a little more about that image and the session that the image came from. Check out this week’s Seniorologie Spotlight Image and some more images from that session from this week’s winner Ashley Westphal of Ashley Westphal Seniors in Atlanta, Georgia.
Tell me a little about this senior and this photo shoot…This senior is a pretty special one. Besides being gorgeous, she’s creative. She sings, she’s into photography, and has an amazing sense of style. She opted for my editorial session where beyond a “normal” senior shoot, we do a concept shoot, and after my preconsult with her and her (amazing) mom, we opted to give this session a boho twist.
At this session, I do the styling, and Haley and I had discussed a sort of rustic headwreath. But, as the session began to come together, I started feeling a little “Almost Famous” 70’s boho, so we rocked them both!
Where did this shoot take place? This session took place in the Atlanta metro in a park and three different urban locations.
What about the winning image stood out to you and made you submit it to Seniorologie? There was something “striking” about this image. Haley’s expression, the styling, her eyes–everything just came together.
What do you love most about Senior photography? My heart is 100% with senior photography. In fact, I don’t shoot anything else. For me, there’s something so special about this time in their lives–they have big dreams, and very little fear in chasing those dreams. I’m a big dreamer, and unabashedly fearless when I set my mind to something, so I connect with this girls, and that’s just something that I haven’t been able to recreate in any other genre of photography.
From Seniorologie…This image caught our eye because of the lighting, styling and expression on the senior’s face. It seemed to tell a story and made us instantly want to find out more. The headdress and the fur coat added to the intrigue as it is a style that is different and stood out. Congratulations Ashley and thank you for sharing this beautiful image with Seniorologie!
