Now that it’s getting cold, it makes me dream of warmer days!  This session takes me back to the long days of summer.  I can almost feel the warm sun on my face as I look at this gorgeous session!

What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
My inspiration for this shoot was Taryn, my senior. I think it’s important that each senior and their style and personality be the inspiration for their session.

Where did this photo shoot take place?
We shot this in a couple locations locations north of Lansing. The field of sunflowers wasn’t originally in the plan but we passed it on the way to another location and absolutely had to shoot there.

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
Taryn really already has such amazing style all on her own. In addition to the locations she chose, I did have a couple additional locations that complimented her wardrobe perfectly.

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
Canon 5DM2, the 50mm 1.4, 85mm 1.8 and a good ol’ reflector.

What time of day were these taken?
Between 5:00-8:00 pm

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
I try to keep my editing pretty clean and simple. Just a little warming action from TRA and portraiture.

What is your favorite thing about this session?
Taryn for sure! I love her easy style and infectious smile.

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
I want each session to reflect the senior I’m photographing while keeping the images classic with a hint of modern.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
Get to know them and what they want. I have my seniors text me pictures of their outfits before the shoot so that I can coordinate the location to their wardrobe.
