It’s that time of year, all seniors are getting ready to head back to school for their final year.  It is the perfect time to run a back to school senior photo session special!

Getting those seniors to contact you for their senior portrait session is crucial.  Below I have a few suggestions of how you can run a successful Back To School Special and boost your business.  There may even be a freebie at the end! 🙂

1. Research – This is the first step to any great plan!  In this case, researching when school starts, finding out the yearbook deadline and asking seniors what they want is a good way to devise a plan for a booking blitz, marketing campaign or special.

2. Give them a Deadline – This is very important!  Don’t leave it open-ended.  Make sure to create a special that has a deadline.  Publish that deadline.  Make it seem urgent and that they won’t be able to get this special for long.

3. Eye Catching – Create a digital flyer that is eye catching!  Make sure it is bold and will make people click on it to see the details.

4. Advertise – Put it out there!  Make sure you promote this special.  Be active in promoting this special.  Don’t just post it once and be done!  Use a photo of some of your reps from your rep shoot in this ad and tag them in it!  Ask them to spread the word about this Back to School Special you are having.  Get them to post on their facebook pages too!

5. Make it Special – Whatever you are giving, make it special!  Some ideas are to give a discount on the session fee, give a free makeup session with a booked senior session, give them a free print or give them a 10 minute free BFF session at the end of their booked senior session or even a free mini family shoot so they can receive photos that capture their family while they are all together.  These are all great things that seniors would love to have.  These items also appeal to both seniors and their parents.

Whatever you do for your special, make it count!  Get it out there and start booking some senior sessions!!
