Sometimes you just never know where things will lead you.  In the story below, a photographer came to The Seniorologie Shoot Out to build her own portfolio.  And in addition to that, she was able to help an aspiring model build her portfolio as well!

I met Brittney of Brittney Kluse Photography at The Seniorologie Shoot Out in Las Vegas last March.  I immediately saw that she was full of personality and her photography showcased that brilliantly.  Her photos, like her, are full of creativity, color and fun!  We hit it off and I am so glad she came to The Seniorologie Shoot Out.

In case you don’t know, The Seniorologie Shoot Out is an event that takes place in Las Vegas each year (The 2013 Shoot Out will be March 10 and we are busy planning it now!).  It is a completely styled shoot full of real high school seniors and it gives photographers from all over the country the opportunity to build their portfolio.  Each Shoot Out has a different theme and is styled by the amazing Vanessa Warren of Butterfly Sparks.  The theme of the 2012 Shoot Out was all about color.  We used fun props such as roller skates, tissue paper flowers, glitter, balloons and were even lucky enough to get an ice cream truck in the mix! Since the Shoot Out, I have kept up with Brittney through Facebook, email, etc.  I noticed that she was communicating with one of the models from the Shoot Out about helping build that model’s portfolio.  So I asked her to share a little about that experience with Seniorologie.  Below is what Brittney had to say and some of the photos from the shoot out that have now been included in the model’s portfolio!  As you can see, you never know where experiences will lead and how you can help others with their dreams through your photography!

Here is the back story:

Not only was the Vegas Senior Shoot-Out one of the highlights of my WPPI trip, but it evolved into quite an amazing marketing opportunity! During the shoot, we got to be so candid, fun, and creative (three things that are near and dear to me with my style of shooting)! The models were beautiful, outgoing, and up for anything. Part of what I’m known for is my rich use of color throughout my images, and BOY did I get it with this shoot! From funky accessories, to multicolor confetti, ice cream, color-blocking and more … this shoot had Brittney Kluse written all over it! 

When I returned from WPPI I emailed my favorite images of Skye and **very** happily saw that they were featured on the Seniorologie Facebook page and blog! They also have been a hit on my marketing materials including: a magazine, fliers, thank you cards, and even a large canvas for my in-home studio! Recently, Skye’s mother emailed me asking if I could help her build a modeling portfolio for Skye using some of my images (along with other great images taken from the uber-talented photogs that were along for the Senior Shoot-Out!). I happily concurred and was able to provide Skye’s mom with a sub-set of my images, processed in true Brittney Kluse fashion to help give her modeling portfolio the colorful edge she was looking for! I’m so thrilled to know that my images are part of a portfolio that is now helping a young woman chase her dreams! …and it’s all thanks to the amazeballs – SENIOROLOGIE for connecting us!
