Finding the perfect actions to fit your style is a great way to simplify your editing workflow and save you time!! I started out with many actions from lots of different sources and as I look back on my early work, all I see are actions, textures, etc. I was using the actions in the wrong way. Now, I realize that actions are to enhance your work and not fix it or cover up something. It is kind of like makeup, it is there to enhance your features and not make you look like someone you are not.

Actions are created as tool for photographers, condensing steps into one so that you are saving time on your editing. Some of the greatest actions do not take the place of learning photoshop steps but rather take the steps that you already know how to do and condense them for you to make them work fast and efficiently.

The Shoppe has several actions that do just this…help the photographer by saving time and enhancing an already wonderful photo. The Shoppe has created a new set of actions and I had the opportunity to review this set and share my thoughts.

The In Vogue Action Set is available for both Photoshop and Photoshop Elements users. The set includes 10 color, 4 black and white and 3 other useful actions. I thought the best way to review and demonstrate these actions would be to try them out on my own images from The Seniorologie Tour Texas. There are many other actions in this set but these were some of my favorites that worked well with my images.

To me these actions give a wonderful vintage matte feel while still being fashion and editorial. I love that! My absolute favorite is the matte action which can be run on your own black and white recipe or one of the black and white actions in this set to give that beautiful matte film look to the image.
