It is hard to believe that this beautiful, light-filled shoot started out on a rainy day!  Anna Sorhegui, of Anna Sorhegui Photography, said that it was raining on the way to the shoot and she had a backup plan to take the shoot in a total different direction.  But lucky for her, when they arrived at the location the rain stopped!  Just in time for a beautiful senior portrait session!

Check out what Ann had to say about this session and be sure to visit her site here.  Thanks for sharing Anna!

What was your inspiration for the photo shoot?  The Inspiration for my shoot was Sydney herself. She is my 2013 senior model and I knew that working with her would be a blast. She was a natural in front of the camera and it showed in every single image I took.

Where did this photo shoot take place?  Naples, Florida

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?  As far as clothing, in general I tell my seniors to have at 4 to 6 outfits picked out. I LOVE Pinterest and I tell my girls to check out my board with ideas as to what to wear. With Sydney, her mom took her shopping and they absolutely rocked it with what they had come up with.

What camera, lens and equipment were used for this shoot?  For this shoot I used my Canon 5DM2 and an 85mm lens.

What time of day were these taken?  Believe it or not, this day started out with lots of rain. It was even raining on our way to the shoot. I was prepared to take the shoot in a totally different direction. By the time we got to our location, it had stopped raining. We stared the shoot closer to 5:00 and finished at about 8:00 p.m.

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?  Since we had several different locations, I wanted to have three different looks but still keep it cohesive. I love Florabella and some of the images were processed with her Milk and Honey while the rest were just a simple clean edit.

What is your favorite thing about this session?  There are so many things about this session but what I loved most was how easy going Sydney was. She was able to follow direction and make it her own.

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?  I want my seniors to feel confident and see their true beauty within and out. To let them know that it’s okay to let go because this is their moment to shine.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?  My one tip is to work with a professional makeup artist/stylist and get to know your seniors ahead of time. Meet them for coffee and spend at least half an hour with them getting to know them so the day of the shoot you are not two complete strangers.
