The location, lighting and styling of this photo shoot remind me of a secret garden fairytale. And the senior in the photos is the perfect subject for this photo shoot. Latonya Buice of Belle Buice Photography in Atlanta did a wonderful job working with the golden hour light and giving this senior a beautiful session.
Check out what Latonya had to say about the session below and be sure to check out her other work here. Thanks for sharing Latonya!

What was your inspiration for the photo shoot? The senior’s personality and her love for fashion and modeling. Her favorite TV show is America’s next top model.
Where did this photo shoot take place? This session took place off historic Main Street in Buford, GA. We were standing on the grounds of a beautiful historic White Mansion. Unfortunately, that day was a local high school’s homecoming so the front of the mansion was covered with groups getting pictures. But luckily we found a quaint spot to the side, I saw the large hedge and instantly had ideas popping in my mind.
Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot? Honestly no. I always encourage my seniors to bring several different outfits so we can select and choose the day of the shoot. My senior gal was a very fashionable person so I allowed her to bring 7 different outfits to choose from and we used every single one.
What camera, lens and equipment were used for this shoot? This session was shot using all-natural light with my Canon Rebel T1i (500D) with kit lens and 50 1.4. ( Just upgraded to a mark ii yay!)
What time of day were these taken? During the “Golden Hour” so around 6:30-just when the sun was setting over the trees behind us.

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session? In PS CS5 I adjust the curves/levels to my taste, added an action from Red Leaf’s Vintage Tones (took out the vintage tone) and an action from Florabella Luxe 2-both with my own tweaks. To finish them off I run a sharpen and skin softening action I created.
What is your favorite thing about this session? The combination of amazing light with a beautiful senior.
What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style? I would like this session to convey her honest & sweet personality with my mix of creating fun, fresh, and timeless imagery. Photographing seniors is such a fun experience not just for the senior, but for me as well. I really hope that shows in the images.
What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors? That One pose and Location go a long way! I got pictures of her standing in front of, in between and behind the hedge-we took maybe 5 steps all together. Don’t stress over finding the “perfect” location-this spot was totally spontaneous and it worked out beautifully. In fact, we hopped in the car with her parents and stopped at random locations that looked interesting and would provide great photo opportunities. It was a blast!
