Tell me a little about this senior and this photo shoot…
Sydney is a Senior at Coppell High School and very involved in school and extracurricular activities! She’s a member of the Coppell High School Band, Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra, and National Honor Society. In addition, she teaches piano and tutors Spanish to elementary/middle school kids in the area! She wants to attend University of Texas – Austin and study business and economics. She also loves spending time with her two little sisters.
This was my last senior session of 2013 and coldest session to date. The week before, Dallas was hit with a crazy icestorm, and by the time we photographed Sydney, the ice had melted, but the temperature was still pretty frigid.
Where did this shoot take place? A park and a tiny “downtown” area in Coppell, TX
What about the winning image stood out to you and made you submit it to Seniorologie? I just loved the winter light during golden hour. It had such a rich hue of orange that you don’t see most of the year. Between Sydney’s gorgeous expression and the light, it was definitely one of my favorite photos from her shoot.
What do you love most about Senior photography? I love working with high school girls and helping them see just how beautiful they are. I’m inspired by all they are doing now and plan to do in the future. When I was a high school senior, I didn’t know my senior portraits could be fun or personal, or a confidence boosting experience. It’s my mission to help girls see just how brave, brilliant, and beautiful they are on the inside and out!
