A lot of times I get the question…”when is the best season for senior photos?”  And I answer with a question..”what season is your favorite for colors and clothing?”  Fall is such a beautiful time for senior photos because it allows seniors to wear layers of beautiful clothing and backdrops can be so colorful and warm.

What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
Emily wanted a fall session that showcased the fall colors. We planned her wardrobe and accessories so that her gallery gave one cohesive look.

Where did this photo shoot take place?
This session took place in Northern California at the Flower Farm Inn in Loomis, California.

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
I shot this session with my Canon 5D iii and my Canon 85 1.2 L lens.

What time of day were these taken?
Evening light in the fall, around 4 pm.

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
These images were all hand edited to enhance Emily’s natural beauty.

What is your favorite thing about this session?
The color and light in this session is fabulous.  But I also love how Emily’s personality shines through. I feel like you get to know a little bit about her through these images.

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
My goal is for each of my senior girls to feel beautiful. In this session, Emily had her hair and makeup done, and you can tell that she feels beautiful and confident in her images.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
I think helping clients plan their wardrobe is really helpful. It also gives me an opportunity to get to know my senior girls before we get to the shoot. This helps my girls to feel comfortable with me and being in front of the camera.
