“There is nothing more complimentary than when your previous senior clients contact you for MORE pictures! And when a GROUP of them do… it becomes pure magic. This group of seniors have grown up together, danced together and are now graduating together. We had an absolute blast with them because they were naturals at posing and simply beautiful on the inside and out! This was definitely one of our favorite senior group shoots to date!” said Casey Murphy of d-Squared Designs in St. Louis.

You can tell in the photos below that this was a super fun photo shoot!!  Check it out and be sure to check out more of Casey’s work here.  Thanks for sharing Casey!!

What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
These GIRLS! They are beyond fabulous and with their common interest of dance, we had so much fun dancing, running and posing in various places throughout town during their shoot!
Where did this photo shoot take place?
Southeast Missouri. An old farm with lots of land and an old Train Depot in Bonne Terre, MO!

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
After a few discussion and ideas back and forth to coordinate what makes a great outfit.. these girls listened to my advice

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
Our 5DmarkII’s, 85L, 24-70L, 35L and 16-35L. We are definitely Canon lovers.

What time of day were these taken?
Evening

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
We are Photoshop junkies… we love the control it gives us. We enhanced the colors and really made this session POP. Just like their personalities … their images are bright, vibrant and just plain fun!

What is your favorite thing about this session?
DEFINITELY the dance images. With a background in dance ourselves, it made it so incredibly fun to pose them because we knew just how we wanted them to look!

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
Our senior photography style is all about making the the senior feel beautiful. Whatever it takes. We do it! We love making our seniors feel like they just stepped onto the set of a Teen Vogue Magazine cover shoot!

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
Don’t forget to make the session about the senior! At the end of the day, we are capturing a moment in time for these kids and we want it as true and beautiful as the senior truly is! Oh ya… and step outside the box, be different—seniors LOVE THAT. 🙂
