Asking your senior clients what they are looking for in their photo session can be all the inspiration you need to create something unique and beautiful.  Amanda Coker of Dash Photography said that this senior said she wanted something whimsical and that is all Amanda needed to come up with this session!

“I saw bare feet, lots of light and her beautiful blonde hair,” said Amanda.  I think both the photographer and the senior accomplished exactly what they wanted and ended up with a very whimsical photo shoot!

Check out this shoot below and be sure to check out more of Amanda’s work here.  Thanks for sharing Amanda!

What was your inspiration for this photo shoot? The word “whimsical”!

Where did this photo shoot take place? The Chattahoochee River, and a photographer friend’s Atlanta studio!

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot? Canon 5D Mark III, 100mm, 50mm, (2) Canon 600EX-RT Speedlites, Reflector, and umbrella.

What time of day were these taken? Mid Morning 9 AM-11 AM

What is your favorite thing about this session?  I love the studio shots!  The light is so beautiful coming through all the windows, and the vibe was perfect for Sarah-Ashley’s “whimsical” style and personality.

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?  I love that the “studio” shots are so lively for this session.  I loved seeing people reactions when it wasn’t the expected backdrop changes and cheesy props.  That was the one thing Sarah-Ashley wanted to avoid, and I believe we accomplished our goal.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?  Embrace change, and be flexible. One of the greatest part of our jobs is the ability to create something beautiful from nothing.  Take advantage of that with your seniors! They’re up for anything!
