What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
The graffiti in downtown Honolulu in the Ka’kaako district was my inspiration!

Where did this photo shoot take place?
Honolulu and Ford Island, Hawaii

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
Lia is a fun gal with a great sense of style. I knew she wanted a more urban feel for most of her photos, but wanted to finish it out with a beautiful flower crown and a more flowy/boho vibe. She pulled all those looks of seamlessly!

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
Canon Mark II
Canon 85 mm 1.8
Canon 50 mm 1. 4

What time of day were these taken?
Afternoon

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
Lately, saturation has been my friend! I loved using a touch of it with the graffiti walls.

What is your favorite thing about this session?
How easily Lia transitioned between looks. She was STUNNING!

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
Listen to your senior, then make them comfortable with the session youre envisioning. Lia was pretty shy in front of the camera for the first 20 minutes or so, but I was able to ease her fears by showing her a few of the shots and joke with her to get her comfortable with me and my process.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
Connecting with them and keeping them comfortable both in front of the camera and behind the scenes!
