Being able to capture a senior’s photos at a favorite place makes that senior’s photos so special to them. This shoot by Jessica Spinella of Fly Photography, showcases this senior’s love of the beach!
“Paige is a water girl! When she and I met for her styling consultation she talked about how much she loved being on the water so we went to a gorgeous California resort in Laguna Beach!” said Jessica.
Check out this sun filled shoot below and read what Jessica had to say about it! Thanks for sharing your work with Seniorologie Jessica!
What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
Paige is a water girl. When she and I met for her styling consult she talked about how much she loved being on the water. Beach, river, pool, it didn’t matter to Paige.. we also wanted to something that left kind of California surfer..
Where did this photo shoot take place?
The Montage Resort, Laguna Beach California
Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
Yes!! Paige, her mother and I all created this shoot together!
What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
Canon 5D Mark II, 50mm 1.4, 35mm 1.2
What time of day were these taken?
Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
Basic Lightroom presets from MCP Actions, then MCP skin actions in PS.. I really don’t like the look of over processing, so its very subtle..
What is your favorite thing about this session?
I love how the images of Paige with the headbands look.. so cool and surfer girl but still chic and gorgeous!
What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
Paige is an awesome girl, super sweet and which such a chill but cool style. I hope that her shoot shows her soft, fun, kind personality. Further, I hope that the photography shows a relaxed, comfortable, easiness. I want my clients to look like Seniors and to actually look like themselves on their best day.
What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
My best advice is for photographers to be verbal with their clients! I don’t know about you, but I feel great if I’m being encouraged and told that I’m beautiful while someone is taking my photograph! It makes me feel so good and confident and gorgeous, and that ALWAYS shows in the images! Seniors need to be directed and encouraged!
