Even though this session was shot in Utah, it very much has a California Beach feel to it, which is exactly what this senior wanted.  Jacki Miller of Jacki Miller Photo+Design said that this session encompassed everything this senior wanted…a modern, colorful look with a beachy feel!

The beach:)

Daybreak, Ut

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
I always talk to my seniors about what vision they have for their session. I want to make sure that their outfits match the look of the location we are going to. For this location we went with a fun floral shirt and simple blue skirt. For the beach session we went with something a little more simple and relaxed.  

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
For this session I used my 35mm for 90% of the time and my 24-70 for a few other shots. 

What time of day were these taken?
This session took place from 6:30 -7:45pm

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
I love using curves and levels for my post processing. Using curves helps to make my images pop, and levels help to bring out the dark and light areas of the images. 

What is your favorite thing about this session?
I absolutely love the lighting and location. The location gave us both a colorful modern feel as well as a beachy cali look. We got the best of both worlds going here:)

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
I want my images to really show of my senior personality and style. Baylee is one of the sweetest seniors I have had the opportunity to work with. I wanted to show of her sweet personality as well as her great sense of style. I hoped to show just how amazing she was all around. 

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
Get to know your seniors before their session. Take the time to figure out their specific style, and their favorite things to do. That way you can come up with great ideas for their session that fit their personality perfectly.
