Having a special connection with your seniors makes each and every session a dream!  But when your client is also your niece, then there is an even bigger connection!

What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
Abby has been a dancer since she could walk and I wanted to show off her talent and beauty.

Where did this photo shoot take place?
Forest Park, St. Louis, MO

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
Abby and her mom came up with her outfits and I matched them to the locations I had in mind.

What time of day were these taken?
Early Evening

What is your favorite thing about this session?
Aside from the sentimental aspect, it was great to venture out to locations I hadn’t been to and really use the setting to enhance the photo rather than focusing on straight beauty shots.

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
I love to make each session different and use the style and personality of the senior to direct the photo story.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
Ask lots of questions! Allow the senior to tell you what they are looking for. It may take you in a different direction than you originally planned but you may also be able to step outside your comfort zone and challenge your skills and creativity!
