Picking the perfect location is a great way to show your seniors a complete experience.  So when this photographer found out that her senior loved fall she thought of a place that would give her apple orchards, fall leaves and beautiful light perfect for someone who loves fall.

What was your inspiration for this photo shoot? Really just wanted the beautiful fall colors and Alex’s smile to be the main focus. 

Where did this photo shoot take place?

Vine Hill House in Sebastopol, CA.

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?

I advise my seniors to stay away from heavy patterns and urge them to wear clothing they feel comfortable in.

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot? Canon Mark 5D III, 50mm, 70-200, 85
What time of day were these taken? 2 hours before sunset

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session? Used Mastin Presets on this whole session but my images are very close to in camera.

What is your favorite thing about this session? There’s a pose I’ve been wanting to try and it requires me to straddle Alex while she lays down. When I explained it to her she laughed and said ok without hesitation. This shot is one of my very favorite images to date.

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style? She’s a natural beauty and I wanted that to convey most importantly. Im a natural light photographer who has a modern, fresh candid approach and I think that showed perfectly. 

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors? Encourage them while photographing them, Make them feel comfortable at all times. The most comfortable they are the better the pictures.
