I love a session with a mixture of cool styles and this one definitely has that!  There is a bit of a California girl look mixed with an edgy urban look mixed with a girly look. Mixing styles really shows all the different sides to this senior and her style personality!!

What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
The senior’s outfits, hair, & makeup are always my inspiration!!

Where did this photo shoot take place?
Both locations are in Rockwall, TX, all located within 1 minute of each other!

2. School campus

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
I did help her with her outfits a bit.  I am always willing to help as little, or as much as they need me to!

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
Nikon D700 & 50 1.4

What time of day were these taken?
Early Evening: 6:00-7:30

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
I really don’t do much! Make everything POP with curves, soften the skin a bit with Portraiture, and that’s about it!

What is your favorite thing about this session?
Definately, the first two outfits worn! It was so nice to have some funk and edge!!

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
Allie was so fun and laid back, and quite silly too! It is so nice to be reminded constantly by these girls, not to take life so seriously all the time!

It is exciting to see my photography style mesh with all the different styles of the girls! My style has it’s roots, but it also has to adapt and evolve a little, to keep up with all the girls styles and personalities!!

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
Don’t force anything! Get to know the girls BEFORE you have your session. This eliminates the awkward, “getting to know yous.”
