I was talking to my little boy yesterday about the weather in certain parts of the country, and how some places it is warm year round.  He said he wouldn’t like that very much, but I told him, “Give me 80 degrees and a beach everyday and I would be happy!”

This photo shoot below is all BEACH!!  And even though where I live, there is a new crisp in the air as fall starts, I am always wishing I were at the beach!

Mandy Lynne of Mandy Lynne Photography and Design sent in these beautiful photos and I just had to share!  These photos remind me of a vintage postcard from a vacation somewhere exotic!

Check out the photos below, read what Mandy had to say about this photo shoot and be sure to check out more of her work here and her designs here.  Thanks for sharing Mandy!

How did you decide on the concept for this session?  I enjoy creating art collections to sell or license. This particular
session compliments my Summer Love collection.  I wanted a classic 50’s pinup style complete with a beach umbrella, retro
swimsuit, floppy sunhat & accessories.

Where did this shoot take place?  I shot the session with a local Florida model while vacationing in Sarasota.

Where did you come up with the props, wardrobe etc to complete the look of this session?  So many sources.. mostly online. Ebay is a favorite.

What time of day did this session take place?  We started late afternoon until Sunset. It was a little windy on the
beach, but my model  was amazing all the way through.

What equipment was used for this session?  Nikon 85mm 1.4 and Lensbaby Edge 80

Can you share one post-processing technique used when editing this session?  Florabella Classic Workflow

What do you hope to convey about your photography style with this session?  I hope it conveys a sense of nostalgia reminiscent of the classic film era

What is your favorite thing about this session?  My favorite image is the silhouette of the umbrella & model  gazing toward the ocean.  It reminds me of a vintage postcard .

You seem to have a very uniquely vintage style to your photography.  How did you develop your style?  I adore midcentury style. I try to stay as authentic as possible to the era & scene that I am trying to capture.  I like things simple. Vintage props are important, but not the main focus.

Can you share one tip for other photographers who are wanting to develop a unique style?  Think about what you are attracted to and have fun with it.  After shooting for a period of time, you will begin to see a pattern. That’s your unique style.
