The beauty of both seniors and newborns are what Maureen Wilson of Maureen Wilson Photography loves to photograph.  Maureen says she has photographed a little bit of everything during her five years in business, but she found her passion in photographing high school seniors.
Below is a photo shoot of a beautiful senior girl that Maureen photographed in McComb, Mississippi.  The beauty in these photos is evident and Maureen’s passion for what she does shines through.
Check out more of Maureen’s work here.  Thanks for sharing Maureen!
What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
The girls are my biggest inspiration, their personality and style.  I am also inspired by textures that I find around the location for the shoot.

Where did this photo shoot take place?

We started in my favorite little spot in the downtown area and then moved to a creek that runs through a hunting camp near my house.
Did you collaborate with this senior on the wardrobe for the session?
Madison definitely had a vision for what she wanted from her senior session.  Prior to the session we exchanged images of what dresses she was going to bring.  She had accessories that she wanted to incorporate and many cute outfits!!

What camera, lens and equipment was used in this photo shoot?
D700, 50mm1.4 and 70-200mm2.8

What time of day was this shot?
We started about 3:30 in the afternoon and kept shooting until we had squeezed the last drop of light out of the day.

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing these photos?
This session was one of my first sessions after attention Amanda Holloway’s Kitchen Sink Workshop, so I was excited about adding some of the tips on editing that she shared with us to my workflow.

What is your favorite thing about these photos?
Besides how beautiful Madison looks, I just love the textures that where in all the greenery and metal at the locations.

What do you want these photos to convey about this senior and about your photography business?
I want everyone to see just how beautiful Madison is, and that she is just about the sweetest girlie!!

What is one tip about senior portrait photography that you can share with other
photographers?

Talk to the seniors… about anything and everything.  Ask them questions about what they like to do in their free time, what sports they play and what their plans are for next year.  It gets them to relax, especially when you all are laughing together!!

Senior Inspiration – {Maureen Wilson Photography}

  1. Love the dress concept in the water! Gorgeous job!

  2. Christy says:

These are beautiful and the last image is my favorite.

  3. Shari says:

These pictures are absolutely beautiful! You did an awesome job! However, I have to admit that I was disappointed you didn’t answer the question that was asked, “Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing these photos? Isn’t this a site for photographers? And shouldn’t we be willing to let others know exactly what we did to make the shot look great even if it was a lot of actions, and not straight out of the camera.

    Thanks! Shari

heck, yes i do!
