I often get the question…which is better for senior photos, summer or fall?  And the answer is both!  They are equally beautiful but if your senior client can’t decide which, do a session in each season!

That is exactly what this photographer did for this senior below.  Sacred Amos of Moon Reflections Photography in Detroit said that this senior wanted a summer and a fall session so they did both!!

Check out this beautiful session below and read what Sacred had to say about this session.  Thanks for sharing your work with Seniorologie Sacred!!

What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
I really wanted to do something simple and beautiful. That pretty girl you see walking down the street, enjoying the day.

Where did this photo shoot take place?
We took to the quiet streets of an wonderful suburban city, Birmingham, MI. It’s a city where people stroll the boutique shops, great food and plenty of places to meet and hang out.

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
I did! I create a pinterest board for each client, whither it be a high school senior, engagement/wedding, or business. We communicate via email and or text on every aspect of their clothing, from hair and makeup to shirt and shoes and the concept from location to time of day.

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
I used a Canon 5D Mark III, 50 mm and a 85mm

What time of day were these taken?
5pm

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
I have been striving to master light and not use any modifiers. I use LR and PS CC to edit. I don’t do too much as I like to keep a cooler and clean look. I adjust the shadows, the blacks, and the vibrancy. In PS is adjust the levels and the contrast, I might a little haze through the levels.

What is your favorite thing about this session?
I loved the light and I loved how natural she was.

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
I want her simple and radiant beauty to shine through. She is so sweet and so kind. I think we were able to convey that. My style is finally coming together. I want my style to show a simple, clean, natural style. Modern at the same time.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
I think building a relationship with them is very important. Take the time to get to know what they are looking for and don’t be afraid to kind of nudge them to reach beyond their comfort zone, sometimes they don’t realize just how amazing they are.
