Movies can be a great source of inspiration, whether they are movies about present day stories or movies about stories from the past.  In this session below, the senior was inspired by the movie Water for Elephants and with her photographer, Morgan of Morgan Lindsay Photography, they created an unforgettable senior photo session.

“abbey came to me with a vision,” said Morgan.  “Water for Elephants was a story I wasn’t familiar with before meeting Abbey at her pre-session consultation.  Directly after, I went to my office to gather inspiration and found it was such a perfect fit for her style.”

Check out this gorgeous session below and read what Morgan had to say about it.  Thanks for sharing your work with Seniorologie Morgan!

What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
Water for Elephants was our main inspiration, from the clothing all the way to the finger wave curls and Cabernet Yves Saint Laurent Lipstick.

Where did this photo shoot take place?
It took place around my studio, in the countryside as well and studio backyard.

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
Collaborating with each senior I work with is why I love being a senior photographer. Spending time getting to know their style is crucial for bringing out the best images possible.

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
5D Mark III and my favorite Prime 85 1.2 Canon Lens were used for the whole shoot.

What time of day were these taken?
4:00PM

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
I always love rich color pallets and take that into consideration when suggesting outfit choices and locations with each senior. My editing technique always is to darken dark hues, allowing lots of contrast.

What is your favorite thing about this session?
Abbey, our senior. The long raccoon fur coat and the model T ford we used during her session.

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
Timeless, classic and head turning images that bring out confidence in my clients. Confidence in young girls is so important to me. I know confidence isn’t really a style, but it’s a really strong element into my photography style.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
Have fun. Be yourself and if senior photography is your passion you will have no problem connecting with your clients.
