This teen not only lives on a beautiful piece of property complete with awesome spots for photos, but she also raises show pigs!  What a unique combination for a senior photo shoot!

“We knew we had to get a photo with the pig, ha,” said Rey Jarrel of Rey of Light Seniors.  “I was very inspired by all the beautiful spots within the location.”

What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
We knew we need a photo with the pig, ha! But I was very inspired by all the beautiful spots w/in the location. When we drove around there were three spots that stood out to me. The train car, the old corrals from a movie set, and the antique water wheel. I could envision outfits right away to complete the look of the session. We had a great time looking through clothes to match it up to each location.

Where did this photo shoot take place?
On my clients private property in Moapa, NV

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
Yes! It was essential to have the right clothing to complete the right “vibe” for each location!

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
Canon 5d mark 3 and mostly my 85mm 1.8 but also my 50mm 1.2. as well as my trusty reflectors

What time of day were these taken?
about 2 hours from sunset

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
I use Light Room 5 for a base edit, and then I finish it up in Photoshop CS6
I do a lot of dodging and burning in my edits. We have a lot of harsh, flat sunlight here in Nevada, photoshop helps a lot with getting the photos exactly where I want the to be.

What is your favorite thing about this session?
Oh gosh, every bit of it was a blast. But probably zipping through the property on Keypher’s Rhino ATV, racing the sun! It was a little adventure!

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
I want it to show how strong and lovely Keypher is. That you can still be a lady even if you get your hands dirty!
As for me, I love showing off trending styles and what each girl is wearing at this stage in her life, but I enjoy a touch of whimsy somewhere in each session too.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
Just get to know your seniors. They are awesome people, just figuring out who they are and will be for life. Each one is so unique, and if you embrace it, it will shine through in the photos.
