The lighting and the location can make photographers down right giddy!  And these photos prove that!

The session below was submitted by Samantha of Samantha Clark Photography and I just love the lighting and warmth that these photos show.  Read what Samantha had to say about this session and be sure to check out more of her work here.  Thanks for sharing Samantha!

What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
The location really inspired me and the endless options made my mind burst with idea’s.

Where did this photo shoot take place?
Fort Williams, Cape Elizabeth, Maine.

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
No, Lia had in mind what she wanted to wear and I fully support Seniors wearing what they want for their session to show who they are. I do help out and suggest outfits when I am asked but other than that, it’s all them. Before each session, I apply their makeup so seeing what they’ve brought for clothes helps me know what kind of makeup look to apply.

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
Nikon D600 with 85mm f/1.8 and 50mm f/1.4 with a silver reflector.

What time of day were these taken?
This was in the afternoon around 3pm.

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
I don’t airbrush faces and make them look fake. I do light editing, mainly a color pop and a little sharpening. I use both Lightroom and Photoshop.

What is your favorite thing about this session?
Lia was one of the few seniors that chose this location. I was excited because I have been to Fort Williams several times and knew the places I wanted to take her. My most favorite thing about it is that it had everything – buildings, trees, ocean, rocks and more. We had endless options which made her shoot amazing!

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
This senior is as sweet as she looks. Her photos really show who she is, beautiful inside & out. I am very passionate about senior photography and I think my photos show that.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
Make sure they feel comfortable. Always be upbeat and keep telling them how awesome they are doing because it really helps boost their confidence and helps them to relax & get more into it. Also, get to know them!!! Chat it up during your shoot, be friendly and fun!
