High School is where you bond with your friends and create memories that last forever.  So a Best Friend photo session is the perfect thing to document the friendships that you have formed during your high school years.

Heather Nordell of My Kind of Wonderful Photography shares a beautiful best friend session below.  Check it out and read what she had to say about this session!  Thanks for sharing Heather!

What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?  One of the most important things to me during my high school years was my best friends. They were there for me during the ups and downs and the in between times. We are still close even now! I know I would have LOVED to have pictures taken of us together during high school. Since I can’t go back in time and take those images I thought I would do the next best thing – offer a best friend session to one of my clients!

How is a Best Friend Session different than a individual senior session?  The Best Friend Sessions are designed specifically for 2-5 seniors and are about half the time of a regular session.  The sessions focus on the friendships and interactions of those seniors.

How do you incorporate Best Friend sessions into your photography business?  I have added the Best Friend Session as a mini-session that can either be added on to a regular session or done on it’s own and these mini-sessions can be done anytime, not just a special time of year.

Where did this photo shoot take place?  We headed to a local state park to take these images. The weather in Las Vegas during September is amazing and this day was no exception.

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?  Since I know my client has amazing style I let her have creative freedom on the clothing and styling for the session. I cannot even tell you how excited I was when she arrived with 2 of the most gorgeous girls and all of them styled beautifully. What are the chances that I would get to photograph 3 equally beautiful girls in one session?!

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?  I used my Canon 6D and my 50mm 1.4 lens for the session

What time of day were these taken?  This images were taken in the early evening a few hours prior to sunset.

What is your favorite thing about this session?  These girls were so much fun to photograph and I loved seeing their friendship with each other reflected in the images I captured. I had originally planned for the session to last about an hour but we were all having so much fun we ended up shooting until it was almost dark.

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?  I wanted to show off not only how gorgeous these girls are but also how fun their friendship is.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?  I think it is important to not only listen to your senior but to try and remember what was important to you at that age.
