What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
Lauren has been involved in Musical theater and drama all through high school. We really wanted to showcase her style and dramatic flair in her images. From casual skinny jeans to a Free people dress, Lauren brought her A Game to her Session!

Where did this photo shoot take place?
Downtown Phoenix, near a very well known Theater and surrounding areas.

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
I get together with my seniors and plan their clothing and accessories. We plan our locations based on clothing choices and style.
sandi_shipley_photography__0050sandi_shipley_photography__0051What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
Canon 6D body, Canon 70-200 2.8, canon 35mm 1.4, canon 85mm 1.8, and a 42″ reflector

What time of day were these taken?
We started shooting at 3pm and stayed out until just before 5pm to catch the golden hour in Downtown Phoenix.

What is your favorite thing about this session?
I loved Lauren’s dramatic flair! She has such a fun personality and her style really comes out in her images. From playful and flirty to bold and serious, she has so many fun sides to her personality!

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
Every Senior I shoot brings her own style and personality to the table. I try to be open to letting their personalities influence how and where we shoot, so that each session is truly a reflection of who they are in this season of their life. I want them to look back and remember not only how good they looked but how amazing they felt as well!

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
Let your Seniors have a voice in planing their shoot! Some times their ideas can help you push your boundaries and teach you new ways of seeing things.
