Finding a location that fits your senior’s story is a great way to make sure that senior’s session is unique to them.  In this beautiful session below, photographer Alyx Garner said she tried to find something that looked like Scotland or Ireland.

“Shannon is a world-class Irish dancer.  I scouted for a location that reminded me of parts of Scotland and Ireland, and one that would allow her natural beauty to be in the spotlight,” said Alyx.

Check out this beautiful session below and read what else Alyx had to say about it.  Thank you for sharing your work with Seniorologie Alyx!

utahseniorphotographer5What is your favorite thing about this session?
I just love the soft golden sunlight!

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
I strive to bring out every senior’s inner beauty and personality through bold, beautiful photographs. Being a teenage girl can be so hard; I want every senior I photograph to go through their photos and feel their confidence levels soar.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
Really get to know the seniors you are photographing – get to know their interests, passions, and hobbies. When you get to know a senior, they are going to feel so much more comfortable in front of the camera. Watch them as they come out of their shells – it is really an amazing thing! Build relationships – that’s just as important as the ability to take a pretty picture.

  1. Esther Wheat says:

These are stunning! I believe that Alyx did a fantastic job of bringing this young lady’s passions and beauty to life. I agree with what Alyx said about getting to know the senior. Too often the photographer just starts shooting and doesn’t form a relationship with the subject and that will come across in the end result. Thanks for sharing and spotlighting such a talented photographer!

  2. Hailey says:

Gorgeous! The light in these is just perfect.
