Looking at this shoot on this snowy South Carolina day, I long for the beach! 🙂  This beautiful session was a styled shoot that took place in the Carolina Beach State Park and it highlighted this senior’s beautiful red hair and bohemian style.

“I worked with her to create the look for this shoot but she styled her own hair and makeup and did an amazing job,” said Trinity Tolbert of Treebird Photography in Wilmington, North Carolina.

What time of day were these taken?
two hours before sunset

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
I edited in Lightroom 4 and used my own customized presets.

What is your favorite thing about this session?
The feel of the images.

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
I wanted to do something a little bit different than my normal senior sessions. It was great to feel “free” to pose and shoot how I wanted to, without any expectations. I want it to show that I can offer something different than the traditional portraits, and that I can deliver a lot of variety.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
Communication is number one. I want my seniors to feel completely comfortable with me, and know that I truly care about their session. I do this by sending them a questionnaire, and helping them every step of the way. I typically include professional makeup and help with wardrobe.
