What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
We decided to do an Audrey Hepburn look, modernized!

Where did this photo shoot take place?
We rented the grounds of a local manor, Ewing Manor.  It is just beautiful with it’s amazing fountains, flowers and manor.

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
Yes, she had the dress and I provided the hat, necklace and gloves!  I went shopping online after our consult and would send her pictures of hats and accessories.  It’s great to involve them in the choices, I think she got even more excited during that.

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
Canon Mark iii and the 85mm 1.8.

What time of day were these taken?
5 p.m.

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
My post processing starts with portraiture at a low opacity, then I hand edit in color curves and finally use a Florabella action and MCP eye action.

What is your favorite thing about this session?
My favorite thing about this session is that she is seemingly flawless.  I didn’t have to tell her to do anything, she is a natural. You know that excitement as a photographer when you look through the lens and know it will be epic?  That was this shoot. She and her mom were thoroughly enjoying every minute of the shoot!

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
I want my seniors to know that it doesn’t matter WHAT your style or personality is, we will work with you to give you a session that portrays who YOU are!

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
Be prepared.  Discuss wardrobe, have a pre consultation, scout out locations to enhance their wardrobe and personality and most of all…have fun with your senior!
